why wouldn't he? I think too much credence is paid to the jan window....

Any manager coming in during the window would have known it was unlikely to really give him any real opportunity to shape the squad as he wanted, due to the notorious difficulty of doing business in the window (yes I know Fulham bought in a few who could make a difference and palace signed a couple, but with the exception of Holtby, no one signed anyone that made me think bugger me that will make a difference). Surely if you're an ambitious manager you'd back yourself to still be able to save us, given the players we have and the 9 games after city.
