Hucks was obviously more of a direct pace monster and crosser, while Wes is more of a pure dribbler and passer, but all of those qualities are fairly rare and exciting in tandem, none the less.
Then you have to add in the fact that his end product is just as good, if not better seeing as he has played at the top level for longer than Hucks (for us that is). That type of player rarely ends up at Carrow Road, so I really appreciate it when we have one like that.
The point of selling him to Villa? Money in the transfer kitty (even if nominal), money off the wage bill and the elimination of a poor influence on the team morale? Although personally I can see why we shouldn't sell him in terms of ability, because he's good enough to keep a club up when used correctly. I'm not saying that we should sell him, just that I can understand how he feels.
The thing that's galling for me is that quite a few posters on here will tell you that he's not good enough for this level anymore, yet in the same sentence will suggest that we shouldn't sell him. Well, if he's not good enough then why shouldn't we let him go when all of the other points suggest that we should sell him?
That's one thing that has really annoyed me about this whole thing. Everyone should either accept that he's good enough and shouldn't be sold, or that he's not good enough and that it would be better if we moved him on. We should all at least give him credit for his contributions at ALL levels.
