It's basically an almost entirely joyless experience

I was pleased when we beat Hull and celebrated the goal like any other. But it was a dogs**t game and no-one played particularly well.

The atmosphere was flat, the game seemed to drag.

That's not an opinion or taking sides - that's just a real, visceral feeling.
