Will be really disappointing if all we do is ge this Ciani fella and the Stoke midfielder.

Think both could add to the team, but I just feel we desperately need a right back, a right winger, someone creative between midfield and attack. Hope we're in for some surprises because it just feels like we're signing a backup/improvement on BJ as backup to Tettey and someone to take game time away from Bennett who hasn't done a lot wrong.

Maybe if Howson's not going to get much more this season Hughton is planning on running Tettey - Whelan - Fer as a new trio. Even then, although the previous three played well its not like we were ripping it up. They only really seemed to play 4 games together Stoke W, Chelsea L, Arsenal L and Cardiff D. Cardiff was the "30 chances game" in which we actually troubled Marshall very little and I thought at Stoke we were pretty poor too and never really looked like scoring! Begovic should have saved Howson's shot. Oh and they all played in the away loss to 10 man Hull.

Seemed a bit of revisionism about the "midfield 3". We need to find something new that works. Preferably with Snodgrass for a while.
