I'm astounded too,

last summer when I was back in the UK, I was on the M6, just outside of Birmunum and I couldn't get signal on O2 and yet I can get 4G in Emerald, in Central West QLD. Emerald which is in the arse end of nowhere with a population of 12,000 people. Birmunum, in the middle of the Engerlunds with a population of 1,000,000+ people.

That's in QLD too, where we live 20yrs behind most of the western world.
