I have a wine-related theory regarding the perceived 'value' of the FA Cup

Forty years ago, someone ordering a glass of white wine in a pub, would almost certainly have been served with a glass of 'Stowells' medium/sweet wine from a vat containing a large quantity of wine. It would have been full of chemicals, yet the consumer would have felt sophisticated, because this was what was available. They felt good holding the glass?there was no real sense of knowledge, regarding the poor quality of the product, because European or global wines didn't exist in our eyes.
If you want to continue to enjoy this 'famous' trophy, be happy to drink piss.
