Dann, Gutierrez, Whelan: well I'm sure they're all of the required standard but they're not really Next Step Up players, are they? Are they just a better class of Robinson, Andy Hughes, Thorne?

Well let's hope not. Also, with Dann, yes he does look solid and his partnership with Johnson at Brum looked very good. But both of them have been relegated a lot, with different clubs. That can't be entirely down to coincidence.

I'm less miserable about all of this than the above reads, by the way. Apols. I;m whelmed, that's all, and I was hoping for better than that. What a crap window this has been.
