get involved in sports / CSR activities

If you're sporty then if the company has a five-a-side, cricket or softball team etc then that can be a good way of meeting people across all levels.

If you don't mind being altrusitic and dressing like a pratt from time to time, find a way of getting involved in the charity side of things. Gets your face known at least.
