Nice machine for the money

All Chromebooks (with the Acer exception) only have an SSD, not a hard disk, so you don't have huge amounts of space - depends what you want to do really. Any Chromebook has a fairly low powered processor so you will need to have a lightweight Linux distro (no Gnome or KDE).

Things like BT Sport won't work (without huge amounts of nerds) on any Linux for example. And streams sometimes get tricky too (ie often they don't work).

Having said that, it's fun finding out how to do things like this - you'll learn a lot. And Chrome is a pretty good operating system. More and more apps work without needing Internet connection. I got a free 100Gb extra Google Drive subscription with my HP Chromebook.

Note I have two PCs, one laptop, one chromebook, one Android tablet (rooted) and five Raspberry Pis. I may not be the best person to tell you that it's fun.....
