You've missed my point entirely

Clearly he's an excellent keeper, but it's not at all clear he'll ever be worth again what Chelsea offered in the summer. So even though it would have been a risk, it is possible to replace good players, as Swansea have shown. Football transfers are a bit like the stock market in that sense - you succeed by buying and selling players at the right time. I'm just wondering if selling Ruddy in the summer might have been that right time. We'll only be able to say in hindsight.
