We're troubled by it because it is so overt - but where do you draw the line?

Any major global sporting occasion is, for example, propped up by huge multi-national sponsors whose ethical record in a variety of fields may not neccesaril bear the closest scrutiny.

That's not to say damn them all - and I also try as hard as possible to separate politics from sport. But I suppose there is not necessarily any point in singling out the Winter Olympics as morally conflicting for the sports fan.
