Depends on many factors

If the woman is older then couples will try and pop out a couple quite quickly.

Otherwise, it's not really an exact science and up to personal preference. But if you get down to busiess straight away, the woman is probably dealing with pregnancy, birth and a newborn while trying to deal with another child who is barely a toddler, can't walk and needs 100% attention all the time.
