Just back from the game. Which was utterly abject.

I don't get to lots of away games - I make nearly all the home matches and away games in the south-east, and occasionally further afield, but tonight was the worst I've seen us play for years - particularly in the first half.

No shape, no coordination or cohesion, no leadership, no focal point, nothing - and while it was worse than most of the home games I've seen lately, which have been limp and toothless rather than outright dreadful, it felt like an exaggeration of the problems with them rather than an unusually or unexpectedly bad performance.

I've been on the fence with Hughton - didn't want him sacked but wouldn't be bothered at all if he went - but I think if we're going to stay up then we're going to have to gamble on getting someone else in. Hughton's not been a disaster and I think plenty of signings could be really good, but for someone else - I just don't have any faith in his ability to turn it round, and don't see anything much to suggest he could.

Judging by the large group of people chanting Hughton Out behind me - the first time I've heard that at a game - I'm far from alone on this. As for potential replacements - that's the rub, nobody stands out, but I like to think the board are looking further than the UK and have some ideas (that's their job, after all).
