FAO Otto - I remembered what I was going to ask - re Froggy footballers

First off, I watch very little European football, so my question comes from ignorance, not from snide.

I read that Ribery is in the final three for Bestest Player Inna World, along with the two more obvious candidates. Now, I have seen Ribery play, reasonably often, and yes he's very skilful, effective and just about all-around Good. But is he really to be considered one of the best three on the planet? based on what I've seen, which ain't enough to form a valid judgement, that feels on a par with Bradders making prem Team Of The Season - not ludicrous, but a bit of a stretch.
