Last winter I was going through 6 months of Chemotherapy, and as a season ticket holder for many years, I spent a lot of time following this blog and a few others just to pass the time especially when I was feeling s**t. It helped me a lot.
This winter although I am much better, I am finding this site so depressing and think a number of the regulars on here are either not true supporters or they need a reality check.
Firstly although we are free of debt I don't see a queue of buyers , doesn't that tell you that we are really a small provincial club punching above our weight
Secondly the players we have are struggling to compete with the quality in this league, however a few need to look in the mirror as good as he can be Bradders should not be our best player week after week.
Thirdly we have had injuries to key players at the wrong time. If hoops had been fit from the start I'm sure we'd have more goals, and Ricky was out for a long time and is short of confidence now. Tetty has been a big loss as we don't have a real replacement.
Fourthly we are not going to roll any teams over in this league like we did on the way up. Yesterday we created enough chances to get a draw, and could have been in front early on if Hoopers first touch had been true. All games are going to be difficult at this level, I come back to point 2 above, our players need too many chances before we score
Lastly even if we do change managers, there is no guarantee we'd be better off, the misplaced passes, poor defending and inaccurate shooting are from the players on the pitch. I do wish CH would big us up a bit more though and I do think we need an attacking coach on the staff.
Rant over?
