I think a big part of us struggling and generally being terrible to watch is that we don't press high up the pitch that often or retain the ball very well. Perhaps it's too simplistic on my account, but I think we did these things with Hoolahan playing off Holt, and I think in the right midfield Fox is a useful player in that he passes would help dictate the tempo of our game. You could even make an argument for players like Surman in there. Technically good, now completely cast aside.
The option hasn't been used at all by Hoot, he clearly favours a more "solid" approach. Just my opinion, but I think he has got it wrong.
