No concrete evidence for this but what with Hughton's unconvincing explanation, Lambert's comments over the weekend, Wes not at the ground saturday and continued media reports not one of which contains any form of denial from us or even states we have rejected any bid (although I acknowledge Hoot said he was not aware of a bid) it just feels like we are going to let him go there.
If we do then i am genuinely baffled as to why we would sell now, why sell to them and if we do why we would let a rival pick up a player of type they clearly need "on the cheap". I cannot think of many things Hughton could do to start the transfer window that would have a more demoralising effect and it would be a very provocative way for an already unpopular manager to kick off the New Year. Would be almost like a statement from Mcnally and Hughton that Hughton is here to stay and we are going to do things his way.
