I enjoyed today's trip to the match.
Firstly, to give the Fulham fans credit, they were in fine voice all game. Their choice of songs also brought a chuckle ("Have you sacked Chris Hughton yet?" bringing some smiles to the folks around me.)
We played some of the most composed football I've seen, good passes, good crosses. No great air of panic that there seems to usually be, and their goal was certainly against the run of play as I saw it.
As many others have stated, Fox played a great game, and Josh Murphy did really well. You could see the cogs turning as he was running, he was very aware of those around him.
Elmander didn't seem to do much, missed a couple of opportunities to put his boot on the ball, seemed a bit out of it and for a big fella there was more than one time he was being bounced around by the Fulham defence. Redmond, once coming on, seemed more composed than usual, trying to send in some crosses rather than "run to the end, cut inside, blast it over the bar" routine.
I was in a great place to see RvW's header, it really was a fantastic save, on any other day that may have gone in. On that subject, I thought RvW had a good game. He ran the ball a couple of times, wasn't selfish in having a pop himself when a better pass presented itself. I still think he'll come good once we get him some service. He's not an all rounder like Hooper, he needs the ball and he can work with it. I think the lone up top striker role still doesn't suit him.
I wasn't unhappy with the performance. Not unhappy with the thought of the replay, even if we lose, if it gets the Murphy Bros and returning injured a game.
One final thing, Josh/Jacob got standing ovations at the substitution. Well deserved too.
