My NAS has a built in functionality for streaming (it is essential a media server)...

It also has a torrent client built in, so downloaded stuff goes straight on and can stream straight away.

I have my NAS and TV plugged in (via ethernet) to my router and it all works by magic. I can also stream in the same way to PS3 and DVD player, so it might be that if you have a newer DVD player than TV, it'll also work
