You can see at times this season that, particularly at home, he wants to keep the ball but he's so quick to give up on that when we're pressed high as we were yesterday. The reason being that we're stuck in a rigid formation where no one can move around and look for the ball so the opposition can match up and press up in midfield and we have nowhere to go. If he played Wes off Hooper, instead of Elmander, he could go looking for space and start making things tick over, which he usually does well in that role, and we could actually start playing an effective possession based game. As it is playing Elmander there is all but an admission before we've even started that as often as not we're not going to be good enough to create anything with the ball on the floor and we need someone to hit it to in the air.
