If you want to train in winter they're essential!

Also great for doing heart rate interval programmes because there are no outside distractions such as hills/traffic lights etc to disturb your rhythm.

Would recommend a turbo rather than rollers though, unless you are very confident on your wheels!!

I've got an old Minoura VFS-G that has served me great for five years, but there are loads of good ones out there.

I really fancy the Kurt Kinetic Rock and Roller, but it's a bit rich for my blood...

As it happens I'm just jumping on mine now for an hour - weather has been far too s**tty to venture out today.
