The problem was

Swansea are happy to keep the ball, go from Vorm to the left back, to the centre half, to the centre half, to JJ Shelvey, to the centre half, back to Vorm and repeat for 2 or 3 minutes.

We too are happy going from side to side across the back, out to a winger, back across the back 4 and out to the other side.

Both sides were happy to stand off and let the opposition knock the ball around 30 yards from their own goal pretty much unopposed. We cancelled each other out and thats what made for long periods of 'boring' football.
