The 'knee-jerk sacking' of Steve Clarke

In West Brom's last 41 games, they have won nine times, accumulating 38 points. 0.93 points per game. They've basically been in relegation form for over a year.

Meanwhile, Norwich have won nine of their last 36 games, accumulating 36 points. One point per game (obviously). However a third of those victories have come in the last five games. Immediately prior to the Palace game, our record was 27 points in 31 games - 0.87 points per game.

The squad and Hughton have shown great character in recent games but I really don't think we shouldn't underestimate what a difficult position the Board could have found themselves in had we not picked up some decent points in the past few games.

I personally think we WERE quite close to the brink - and I'm glad we pulled back. Hoots will be fine... but he came close.
