I think there was a lot of over-optimism about RVW

Because he was by far the most expensive player we'd ever bought, I think people expected him to be automatically brilliant

But big fee does not equate to great player, as Spurs will tell you ... My goodness they have bought some turkeys for HOOOOGE fees
