installed or upgraded any new progs recently?

This sort of thing has happened to me in the past: you upgrade a prog, aren't careful (or asked) about additional software bundled with it, and suddenly you have a new homepage and a toolbar you didn't want. It may be that something has helpfully replaced your chosen browser.
