The way hoots has handled the Becchio situation seems like really poor man management from the outside looking in.
Keeping all the star players happy is one of the major jobs a PL manager has these days.
You want a good deep squad but you can't play everyone.
Lambert was pretty shrewd at Villa, He sent a lot of the high wage earners packing in favor of younger talent who would respect him more and he could manage better.
When players were left out of Lamberts squads here they always understood why and he was always honest with players who he thought wouldn't have much playing time in the future.
If Hoots stopped Becchio going out on a short term loan he should have played him by now.
Or at least sat him down and explained why he is not getting on the pitch.
Its obvious from both Hoots statement and Becchio statement that this has not happened.
I don't think Becchio did anything wrong. He just said what most fans were thinking in that he was mystified why he hasn't had any playing time considering our three other strikers have scored 1 goal from open play in 12 PL games.
I mean if he cant get playing time when the other strikers are injured or out of form, what chance does he have?
Becchio might not be the answer but he at least deserves a chance or if Hoots doesn't think he is good enough he should be moved on so we can bring in a replacement.
