there's no way the board would get rid of him

in the situation we are in now (i.e. in with a good chance of staying up), unless they had a cast iron, tapped-up replacement lined up.

I'm sure they have irons in the fire though, for if it gets to the stage when Hughton's position is untenable.

History suggests they would poach from another club.
