I know that none of us need stats to tell us how bad our away from is but after yet another defeat thought might be interesting to look at the actual stats and compare with other "similarish" status clubs who have been in the prem and under the same managers (other than Stoke who are slightly different in that they did not sack their manager mid season) have fared. Also thought would chuck in Lambert's record at Norwich as a comparable. Stats below.

Conclusions. we are as bad away from home as we think. Only club that really rivals us for long term sh*tness away and who has not sacked their manager mid season is Stoke and even they have changed their manager in the summer. Newcastle are surprisingly bad away from home. I have too much time on my hands. One can of course argue that conversely we must have an impressive home record (or certainly did last season).
PS. One of our wins was of course at the Etihad which as this season showed was almost certainly due to Man City not giving a sh*t. had we lost that as might have been expected in normal circumstances the picture is even more grim.
