A bloke I used to know had previously worked at a meat packers

Their initiation for new employees was to stick them (unharmed) on a hanging meat hook and propel them along the overhead rails. he said they were usually exhilarated by this, and enjoyed it, right up to the point when they turned the blind corner and smacked full tilt into the meat carcasses they hadn't previously seen.
