because saying cyclist v pensioner can have a bad outcome

means nothing. Many different kinds of interaction between people can potentially result in injury.

However, some are clearly a lot more dangerous than others. I would wager that more cyclists have been injured by pedestrians stepping into the road without looking, than pedestrians have been injured by cyclists on the pavement.
