Fundamentally, there are bad and inconsiderate drivers out there

and there are also bad an inconsiderate cyclists.

I see a lot of cyclists cycling in a way that I would consider extremely risky.

Cyclists should cycle in a more defensive fashion I think, I mean rather than taking a risk and hoping that a lorry / bus sees them. Notwithstanding that the lorry driver or bus driver should see them, people make mistakes, why take a chance? Maybe that's just me being risk averse and cautious.
