In the air he was appalling! If there's one thing you expect as a given with a British centre-half its to defend a header in the box! Do you see Michael Turner or Ryan Bennett get beaten like that on a regular basis in the air. Same story for me, if Smalling played for us or another 'smaller' club he wouldn't get a sniff of England.
