enjoy. That is, unless you've got pretty good facilities for controlling a cold ferment, and then a long very cold lagering period. And all that kit is a bit pricey.
However, ale is a different story. Plenty easy to make a very tasty very satisfying ale.
There's three basic methods. Kits, extract and all-grain.
Kits are easiest and require the least kit, but you've got basically no control over the recipe, and the results are rarely better than good. I've never had a great kit beer.
All-grain is the most time consuming, expensive and difficult, but you have 100% control over the recipe, and can make stunningly good ales.
Extract brewing is a halfway house between the two. Needs more equipment than a kit, but not as much as AG, and you get more control over the recipe, but not as much as AG.
Try a kit, if you like it, buy a big pan and try extract - that's my advice.
