if so sometimes routers are set up to broadcast on a random band between 1 and 13 (for example) while a mac will only work on 1-12. So as soon as the router changes to 13 it stops connecting. What you need to do is go into the router settings and change the setting from 1-13 (or whatever it is) to a static, lower number.*
*all the technical jargon in this post is going to be wrong, I can't remember the correct term and I will have explained it all in stupid terms but this is how I sorted out an issue with my GF's computer
