I agree with you - though I have sworn in front of the kids

I've never said f**king or c**t at them, they've heard me lose it once or twice and say f**king, I've only ever said c**t in front of them when telling one of them off for calling the other a c**t.

It's interesting, though, what words retain a power to shock. Arguably there aren't that many swearwords that do - c**t clearly does but even f**k is pretty common even at senior levels in highly professional workplaces. Whereas the kind of racial epithets that were thrown around with abandon a few decades ago, to the seeming consternation of almost no-one, shock me every time I hear them, which thankfully isn't often these days.
