We were abject, dismal, appalling first half. My half time was entirely enveloped in doom and gloom, working out who we should get in.
I was CONVINCED we'd lose. The players really were in Burnley '06 mode. No movement to try and get the ball, no urgency or desire to get the ball back.
That was my only request at half time, to press the ball. And to be fair, we did it. We did come out 'pushing'. And slowly the murmur of crowd support came back again.
Really not sure how we won 3-1, played so confidently and comfortably at the end. But we did. And i'm delighted we did, not because i'm a happy clapper or whatever the divisive nom du jour is today, but rather because we're got a better chance of staying up by not sacking a manager than we have by changing him. But that does mean the current one has to be good, obviously.
I'm still on the fence - but now he has some stats to (finally) back him up. League position, points relative to last year. Doesn't give him a job for life, but equally they don't damn him either...
1 point min against Newcastle please...
