The board and Hughton thought we no longer needed and could easily replace the unfashionable, outspoken Holt and I think they have been proved wrong, both on and off the pitch.
What I am saying is that other than at the start of last season I don't recall any time where we have looked as much at sea as we have done recently.
You can sign a very good player, but sometimes, they upset the balance. Asprilla at Newcastle being the noteable example.
I am also not suggesting that without Fer we would have loads more points. But I believe we would look more together as a unit.
It's midfield where we are being totally overun recently (and yes that's with just 1 upfront).
I also don't think it would be the worse thing in the world for Bennett to come in for Bassong and for Redmondo to start.
