because his record over this calendar year is appalling and results are not good enough. Simple as that. At virtually any other club he would be gone by now having presided over the run we've had in 2013.
Almost to a man figures in the media are saying we should give him more of a chance and that they do not think he should be sacked. Part if this is because he's a nice bloke who has time for the press. Part is also probably because people felt he was harshly treated at newcastle.
I'm not suffering a Lambert hangover. i don't think Paul Lambert is the be all and end all. He had flaws although he did possess a level of natural instinct/nouse/game intelligence that I personally think Hughton lacks completely. My issue with Hughton is simply that based on what i have seen over 48 games i do not believe he is good enough to be a premier league manager and I think there is a very good chance we will get relegated under him whereas I think with a vaguely competent and more inspiring manager this squad is good enough to pull away from any trouble. I also don;t think he does himself any favours with his choice of coaching staff.
