Just remembered another disgusting Mexican dish from my ignorant gringo days.
Bought a soup-type dish not knowing what it was. it had two long firm things in it, which I assumed were meaty bones or something.
When I'd actually drunk most of the soup I realised they were actually two chicken heads, complete with crest, beak etc
