pretty sure McNally only got rid of Gunn (in the end on a Friday evening after he'd travelled with the team to an away game, even though McNally must have decided he wanted him goine earlier) once he had decided who he wanted to replace him and also sounded them out to see if they were amenable to taking the job.
That might be going on now - we won't get rid until we have sorted out who the replacement will be.
