re Spurs supporters and supporters generally, following AVB's comments recently (spurs being a club which is tring to bed in a load of new players, taking time, a few points behind where they'd like to be - sound familiar ...?) - suggested that ways of watching football have changed - supporters have become passive "customers" in recent times - they "expect" and "demand" entertainment and success (they've paid for it, after all); they are rarely active in bringing it about, but simply sit and wait for it to be produced; unlike the traditional supporter (well, maybe not in Norfolk ...) who was committed, come good or bad, and would try (by actually, er, supporting the team ...) to encourage success. I think those types are in a minority at norwich, but to those of us brought up as diehards, it's pretty depressing ....
