problem being that the FA / FIFA / whoever

have said that they don't want players to be kicking the ball out of play for injuries, therefore it can't be unsporting behaviour (or acting in a manner which shows a lack of respect for the game) when a player is simply playing to the rules rather than a convention that is supposed to have been stopped.
