I'm not sure you can claim that our final league position flattered us.

You are where you are after 38 games. You've earned it. That's not flattery.

Agreed, the second half of the season was a great disappointment, but it was the ten game unbeaten run before Christmas that cemented our high finish. I mean, we were the second best unbeaten top-flight team in Europe behind Barca (I think it was) FFS!!

Had those results where we picked up points been distributed evenly across our season, we wouldn't be saying, ah yes but the final league position flattered us.
