You could argue it shows weakness

But the problem yesterday was not being attack or defence minded it was the absolutely ludicrous decision to take Tettey off thus completely loosening our grip on the midfield, lessening our chances of a point and allowing them to stroll through the middle at will.

A substitution so dreadful that once again leads me to question whether Hughton actually is able to think on his feet and adapt to what is happening on the pitch rather than stick to pre-planned tactics/subs.
