It's hard to gauge from the last two games, bearing in mind the quality we were up against

but although we've been a lot more fluid than we were last year, can we be confident that he knows how to play with a lone striker? See, last season I was sure he didn't. It was like he knew how to set up a side to play in the first 70% of the pitch but no idea how to work the striker into the mix. Holty, bless him, worked his socks off, but rarely looked like any threat.

Ricky, Hooper, no it's not working, we look like 10+1. Maybe something in what Travor Franzzzis said: do what Liverpool did, and play 3 at the back? Makes me shudder a bit, that.

We'll see, next week, if there's any signs that Hoots can join the striker with the midfield. if he can't, I think the season is going to be a long and frustrating one. still better than last year, mind. At least we haven't been boring so far.
