You're certainly not alone in asserting it

Don't think we ever have threads on here about England football without at least someone saying they don't care.

I imagine for every single thread there's ever been on here, at least some posters weren't interested in it. But this seems to be the only one about which people always feel the need to log in to point this out, rather than just ignoring it.
