Salutory lesson from my workplace this past few days.

One of our emergency The Project Is Going To Shit, Get More Bodies In contractors (earning a very, very healthy fee btw) took on a sizable chunk of work for the system we are building (it's for HM Govt). He talks a good game, and was getting on with it quietly, so we'd left him alone.

Turns out he's f**king miles and miles out of his depth, tackling something complicated, but for f**ks sake a long way from brain surgery. So instead of admitting that he didn't have a clue where to start, and asking for help, he decided to bluff and guess his way to delivery on Monday. So he's built this f**king useless heap of s**t, and we're having to do it again, from scratch, massively behind, the f**king bellend.

So the moral of this story is talk to someone, admit you're feeling adrift, and ask for a bit of guidance, otherwise you run the risknof everyone thinking you're a c**t, like f**king Dave* the c**t.

[*] not called Dave.
