Buggered if I can work it out.
Loading the main object: yes, piece of piss.
Stopping it loading the related collection at initialisation: yes.
Loading the bastard collection when I need it without extra code or transactions hanging around for ages: nope.

I suspect the answer is a helper class to handle the initialisation.
