Today's, "fans need to have some perspective" from the Hoots inners using recent history

and the frozen pitch at Walsall miss the point for me. I've been going from Lol Morgan to Hoots and whilst there were terrible performances with all of them I haven't really felt the team was as creatively stifled since the Megson days.

It's nice not to be skint and to be in the top league but it is without doubt the most prolonged period of dull, slow minded, fearful football that I can recall for a long time. I have seen more inept and less skillful teams wear the shirt but for entertainment value over a season this is a low ebb for me.

I don't want to be grateful I want to be entertained. I would rather we have lost 4-3 on Saturday in an end to end encounter with free attacking play and even, f**k it, defensive frailties. And we would have been on MOTD earlier.
