But Stoke fans tired of Pulis' football - even though they were more often than not mid-table, rarely in a relegation battle.

Surely, given the resources you have to hand, that's better than changing constantly and risking the stability you seem to have (from the outside, granted)

If you'd got Hughton, boring football - but stability or Di Canio and exciting football that saw you getting dicked every week you'd want what's best for the club.

(and I know that's a massive can of worms opened for tomorrow - because, as supporters, of course we want to be entertained - but we also want our relative clubs to be successful too - the managers really haven't got it easy nowadays)
